Agrifac may not be a big name on the UK self-propelled sprayer scene, but it is starting to make some inroads. Could the latest Condor nudge the company to the next popularity level? An improved spray line layout and more electric wizardry certainly conjure up an interesting package, as Mervyn Bailey finds out.

Agrifac’s next-generation Condor is bustling with technology and user-friendly features, thanks to a new electrical and sprayer plumbing architecture. But that’s not to say that the Dutch manufacturer has turned its back on tried and tested current-Condor components – familiar technology such as the firm’s StabiloPlus
axle suspension and Hightech Air Plus droplet system, which are all retained on the new machine. We caught up with the prototype model when it made a brief stop off in the UK.

While a lot of the finer details are yet to be ironed out, the featured prototype still gives a fair impression of what Agrifac has up its sleeve for this 3,400- and 4,000-litre capacity self-propelled sprayer, which will
undergo further testing before production starts at the end of the year.

From the ground it’s easy to spot the new cabin, which hails from Claas and also appears on Agrifac’s latest Quatro self-propelled beet harvester. But operators will find the main changes inside after climbing the cab’s four steps. Whereas the old Condor had a separate control system for the spray pack and engine, it is now all bundled into a touch screen.
