Previously, if you wanted a draper header for your Claas combine, you had to turn to a specialist such as MacDon. Not anymore. Now that Claas markets its own Convio draper as an alternative to its conventional Vario, the customer gets an ex-factory header choice … to go for either a belt or an auger

When we were testing the Claas Lexion 5500 TT for last month’s magazine, we used it with both the Vario 770 header, which has an auger to direct the crop to the middle, and the Convio 770 Flex belt-based table. We didn’t get to tuck into field beans or peas, but we did manage to tackle cereals and OSR.
