The latest version of the VMS V300 milk robot is claimed to be faster and smarter, and the bigger box offers more space for larger cows than its predecessor.
Notable updates include Flow-Responsive Milking in which the pre-set vacuum at the teat end remains constant, regardless of the milk flow. DeLaval reckons this can reduce milking times by an average of 27 seconds per cow, with peaks of up to 40 seconds.
“Farmers can use the extra capacity for more milkings per cow, more cows per station, or more idle time for a stress-free operation,” said Thibault Burg, EMEA solution manager for VMS.
A new sensor is available to measure the somatic cell count in the milk, allowing users to keep a closer eye on udder health and intervene earlier in the initial stages of mastitis, and the robot can be expanded with a package of digital tools that provides access to monitoring, analysis and prediction applications.
Existing V300 users can upgrade their robot with the new technologies from Q4, 2025.
