Two new mid-sized JCB Telemaster telescopic wheeled loaders, the latest high-lift Loadall telehandler, and the upgraded 435S wheeled loader all make their Scottish debut on the Scot Agri stand at this week’s Royal Highland Show.

The two tele-loaders are the TM280 (109hp) with single-range hydrostatic drive, and TM280S (130hp) with a hydrostatic-mechanical transmission. The single-stage telescopic boom on both lifts 2.75t to 4.8m, and the full-size cab comes from the other Telemaster loaders. Height to the top of the cab is 2.6m.

Standing just 2.2m tall and 1.56m wide, the TM110 telescopic wheeled loader is capable of lifting 1.1t with a 3.5m lift height. Power comes from a 50hp diesel with all-hydrostatic drive.

Available solely with the DualTech VT hydro-mechanical transmission, the Loadall 542-100 AGRI is said to hit the target for customers seeking the ultimate in usable lift height. Providing 4.2t of max lift capacity and 9.8m lift height, both are significant gains over the current 536-95. JCB says that the performance boost will appeal to straw contractors and large mixed and arable farms for stacking bales, it is physically no bigger, so just as manoeuvrable for yard work.

The Scottish show will also provide visitors with a chance to see the latest 435S loading shovel. This has been given a further boost with dynamic power increased 12% to 282hp for a 19hp/t power-to-weight ratio, and more torque across the rev range.

Powershift transmission upgrades make the most of those increases, including a higher stall ratio transmitting up to 25% more power, direct drive auto lock-up in road gears and operator-configurable lock-up for working speeds.

The Royal Highland Show runs from Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 June at Ingliston, Edinburgh.
