Russian manufacturer Rostselmash has released details of the 3000 series, a new 440 to 580hp tractor range.
Developed to fill the void left now that Canadian manufacturer Versatile is no longer part of Rostselmash, the range-topping 3580 is believed to be the most powerful tractor ever built in Russia.
It is not known which engine is in the two prototypes, although the recently-launched 1000 series uses a six-cylinder Russian Kamaz block (See link below).

The automatic powershift in the 3580 was developed by in-house with help from Moscow University. Numerous other components, including the two-seater cab, axles and 400l/min hydraulics are also all made by Rostselmash. So too is the Agrotronic electronic monitoring and RSM Agrotronic Pilot 1.0 guidance systems, both of which will be standard.
Prototype testing will continue into next year. The plan is to then develop a batch of pre-production models.
