Geringhoff has developed a solution to establish cover crops while combining. Called CoverPro, the precision seeder bolts directly to the rear of the header.
Eliminating the need for a separate pass with a tractor, the time saving technique was developed jointly with Kverneland. Available for rigid headers from 5.5 to 9.0m, the hopper on each side holds 500 litres with seed passing through a pneumatic distribution system to spreading discs or coulters.
Tested in Germany last year, the concept increases the total weight of the header by around 800kg. Fitting and removal is said to take a couple of hours.
Geringhoff will make a number of pre-production units for next season. Only available for new Geringhoff headers, CoverPro will be on the company’s stand at Agritechnica.
