When it developed its trailing shoe system, Schleppfix came up with an applicator with virtually no moving parts, and it has used that same design philosophy with its latest creation, a slurry separator, the SepaFix.

Fed by a pressurised pump, the stream of slurry enters from the bottom of the drum like structure, hitting a multi-channel plastic propeller in the lid. Centrifugal force causes the liquid to be directed to the outside while the heavier fibre simply falls out of the bottom.

Outputs of up to 80m3 per hour are possible with the Swiss manufacturer claiming a dry matter of 15-20%. The system costs less than €10,000. The only wearing part is the plastic propeller which, because of its light construction can be quickly sent by courier.
