Indian manufacturer International Tractors India (ITL) spoke about new 120hp, 130hp and 150hp tractors at Agritechnica.

Prototypes of all three tractors are running, but it will take another 18 months of tweaks and tests to compete the project. Until then, the details are off limits.

The most powerful Stage V tractor currently available Europe is the 110hp S110. Longer term, Solis would like to add a 180hp tractor to the top end of the European range, but this is unlikely to happen for a few years.

The plan is also to offer a Solis tractor with a powershift and CVT. The company confirmed that both were in development at Agritechnica 2023, and visitors hoping to see one or the other at AT25 were disappointed. Neither of the new transmissions were on the stand. The work continues.

One tractor that did make it to Hannover is the latest version of the 90hp Solis S90. The main update concerns the cab, the newly designed roof of which has allowed engineers to find another 10cm of head room. The front screen is also new, and loader operators will appreciate the front roof window.

ITL makes around 175,000 (55,000 of these are 35hp models for India) new tractors a year at its Punjab plant. The site is currently being expanded. When finished in two years, annual capacity will increase to 275,000 units. The focus for the new production hall will be on tractors above 50hp.

Europe is the most important export market for Solis tractors. The company says it is always looking for dealers in the UK and Ireland, and particularly in northern England and Scotland.
