The vertical folding boom and close-coupling of the latest Tramspread umbilical dribble bar makes it suitable for use with any 150hp+ tractor, just like the horizontal folding version.

The ability to fold down to 18m, with shut-off taps, has been retained from the existing 18/24m model. Pipework from the front-mounted swinging arm through to the two macerators is 5” in diameter to accommodate high flow-rates. Customers can choose between Alrena or Vogelsang macerators.

The two pictures are of the prototype. Production versions, which come with breakback end sections, electrohydraulic controls using power beyond and left/right variable boom geometry, will be galvanised.

When folded the new 24m model allows full access to the tractor pickup hitch. This means that just one tractor is needed for running an umbilical spreading system when working with a front-mounted random wrap hose reeler, dribble bar and engine driven pump unit equipped with a suitable Tramspread remote control system.

A prototype of the new 24m dribble bar has been field-tested with sister company Tramspread Contracting for the past 18 months during which time it has covered many hundreds of hectares.

Further testing is currently underway to assess its suitability for use with self-propelled tankers, and the new dribble bar will receive its first airing at LAMMA in January.
