After three years of sharp decline, the Italian tractor, telehandler and trailer markets showed signs of a recovery last year.

FederUnacoma figures show that the tractor market grew by 13.7% to 17,573 units, a sizeable increase on the all-time low of 15,450 units in 2024. Registrations were sluggish in the first six months of 2025, but sales rallied in the second half – and especially in the final three months.

Telehandlers also performed well, closing the year with 1,216 (+18.2%) units, while the trailer market grew at a more modest rate of 4% to 7,812 units. Combine harvesters was the only category that continued its negative trend with registrations down 12% to 234 units.

“Our sector has been impacted in recent years by economic uncertainty, rising list prices caused by rising production costs, and the investment capacity of farms, which have long been experiencing declining profitability,” comments FederUnacoma president Mariateresa Maschio.

Last year’s more positive outlook was due primarily to government incentives, and the continuation of these this year is expected to be crucial to fueling the continued recovery.
