Czech company Rozmital had an array of grassland kit on its stand at LAMMA this week. Perhaps the most striking was this unusual-looking trailed single rotor rake.

With a working width of 4.9m, it has apparently been designed for smaller tractors that might not have the lift capacity to handle a machine such size or the weight to ensure stability in hilly conditions. Using a sole single-acting hydraulic service, the machine is lifted in and out of work by rams on the drawbar and the main dolly wheels.

A pair of castor wheels support the machine up front as well as providing contour-following to avoid the tines digging in or skipping over material in the swath. Rozmital is at pains to point out that it manufactures almost all of its parts in house – including the beds for its range of disc mowers – and has designed the rake’s oil-immersed cam track in such a way that individual sections can be removed and replaced easily should the tine-arms encounter a foreign object. Currently on the lookout for dealers in the UK, the firm prices its 4.9m trailed rake at £10,800 which includes a three year warranty as standard.
