Kuhn Farm Machinery has added a 6.1m model to its Multi-Longer range of hedge and verge cutters.
Requiring a tractor weighing 5.5t, and a minimum of 100hp, the 6157 e-TPAL joins the 7457 e-TPAL as telescopic, left-handed machines, designed specifically for UK and Irish users.
Expected to be a popular model, the 6157 is said to offer the right balance of compact dimensions for road work and good reach for field hedges and ditches.
The standard e-Assist system maintains a constant cutting head angle for an even and consistent finish via an electronic parallelogram, using sensors to control the position.

With automatic lift float in all positions for roadside mowing, a hydraulically powered debris blower can be mounted on the rear to leave surfaces clear of trimmings.
“Working on uneven field edges can cause issues whilst trying to maintain a level finish and the e-Assist feature aims to make this easier,” says Rhodri Jenkins, Kuhn’s grassland product specialist.
The e-TPAL also includes the EP joystick, offering the control of all four proportional movements at the same time. This, combined with the VT 61 terminal, provides instant display of key machine data and speedy access to settings.
The 6157 is only available with the Stabilink axle mounted brackets, but a heavy-duty A-frame is in development. Width of the standard head is 1.2m (24 T-flails). The optional 1.5m wide unit contains 28 T-flails.
