Claas has commissioned two new assembly lines at its French plant in Metz-Woippy to build the new Cerex round and Cubix square balers.
Following the opening of a new prototype workshop at the beginning of last year, the company has now spent €3.3 million to modernise and expand final assembly at the 65-year-old plant to optimise production and prepare it for future growth.

The updates include reorganised assembly lines with pre-assembly areas to optimise production processes. There are new soundproofed test rooms for larger machines, the floors and heating systems have been renovated, the lighting has been improved, and the ceilings and metal structures have been painted.

Viewed as a central part of the company’s DNA, balers have been one of the core products for Claas for over 100 years. “By combining innovative products with future-proof production facilities, we are strengthening the industrial and technological foundations for the continued success of our baler business,” says Thomas Spiering, COO Claas Group.
