Practical test: Claas Lexion 570 combine harvester Celebrating its tenth birthday in 2005, the Claas Lexion line continues to account for a significant percentage of the European combine market. And, even now, there appears to be very little sign of its enduring appeal eroding. In 2004 we tested one of the range’s newest model recruits, the Lexion 570.
Little or large? Toughie, that one. Tested here, the Claas Lexion 570 combine manages to mix relatively compact dimensions with a harvesting output on a par with that of the long-serving former family flagship, the Lexion 480.
Sticking with that comparison, the 570, along with all other Lexion 500 models, benefited from a number of upgrades when they replaced the 400s at the tail end of 2003 (profi 12/03) – a boosted engine power, larger cabs, higher capacity grain tank, Instant Stop header brake and simpler concave adjustment including a form of concave break-back.
