Väderstad can supply pretty much everything to rebuild a long-in-the-tooth RexiusTwin to ‘as new’ condition — a job that may not be cheap but could well be viable. The trick is to know exactly what needs replacing … and how much it will cost.

It was back in December 1998 when we took our first profi look at the Väderstad RexiusTwin RST and, on the surface of it, these now well-established cultivator presses haven’t changed in any marked way in nearly 20 years of production. The choice of working widths on offer has barely altered either, only the 3.30m ‘small’ 330 rigid model having being dropped from what is now a five-model range.

Working widths go from 4.50 to 10.30m, with the weights and power stats listed separately. Väderstad does publish its own draught power requirements but these should be regarded as applicable only to level land and light soils. The figures in our table are a more realistic guide for typical UK and Irish conditions. As to used choice, Väderstad dealers may not have many used Rexius Twin models to pick from, but there are exceptions. As an example, Cambridge Farm Machinery specialises in the refurbishment of Väderstad equipment and will typically have a selection of used units to look over. There are, of course, other sources, but the trick is to pay the right money.
