Dutch Claas and Amazone importer Kamps de Wild is currently enjoying its 100th anniversary year and as part of the celebrations has developed a black edition version of the Claas Axion 800 tractor range.

Previewed on an Axion 850 at the Dutch ATH farm machinery show in September 2018, this tractor was back at last weekend’s three-day show at newly-opened CO2-neutral Kamps de Wild HQ at Zevenaar, in the east of the country.

This was not the only black edition tractor parked in front of the new building, and the 850 was lined up with three other models, one each of an 810, 830 and 870, all kindly on loan from their Dutch contractor owners.

The striking anniversary edition wrap, which is available on all Axion 800 models in the Netherlands, also includes leather upholstery for the driver and passenger seats, chrome exhaust, LED work lights, coloured wheel rims and wider fenders for the Vredestein 900/60R38 tyres.

The reason for selecting the Axion 800 as the base for the limited edition treatment is easily explained because 200 to 300hp tractors are the popular size with Dutch contractors, who are the main customers for the anniversary edition versions.

The complete packet of options normally retail for around €9,000, but as a special offer is available until December 31, 2019, for around €4,000.

Visitors that attended the 100-year show could pre-register to secure one of the 2,000 1:32-scale black edition models of the Axion 870. Made by Italian company Ros, we understand that they sold like hot cakes.

Founded on May 1, 1919, Kamps de Wild has been a Claas and Amazone distributor since the 1950s. Today, the company is part of the Royal Reesink Group, and in addition to the four black edition tractors, visitors to the three-day show saw a wide range of Claas tractors and machines. Amazone equipment and Kamps de Wild-made (KAWECO) slurry tankers were also on display.
