The FWX mounted rotary cultivator from Dutch manufacturer Imants combines the capacity of a 6.0m rotary cultivator with the practical advantages of a mounted machine.
Designed to mix, dig and consolidate the seedbed in one pass, the roughly 5.3t implement is derived from the firm’s trailed 38 FSX. Equipped with a 900mm diameter rotor driven by new planetary gearboxes and chain drive, working depth is down to 250mm. Ten subsoiling legs can be fitted up front to increase the maximum working depth to 425mm.
The newly developed support wheel is said to maintain a more consistent working depth, reduce stress on both the implement and the tractor, improve weight distribution and enhance machine stability over rough ground.
Tractor power requirement is at least 250hp. Working speed is around 6.0km/hr and the FWX can cover up to 3.5ha/hr. The implement folds to 3m for transport.
We understand that a handful of pre-production machines are currently being put through their paces. It is not known when the first commercial models will be available and how much the FWX will cost.
