If you were fortunate to have been at Agritechnica last week then you will know that it was heaving, especially during the last four days, and the final visitor count is estimated to top 450,000.

This figure is slightly lower than the confirmed 457,606 at the last show two years ago, but the number of overseas visitors at last week’s event was significantly higher at 130,000 (109,873 in 2017).

Agritechnica 2019 attracted visitors from 152 countries, most of them from the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Italy and Russia, followed by Switzerland, France and the UK.

The trade fair saw an above-average growth in the number of visitors from Russia, Italy, Poland, Ukraine and the US, but the number of German visitors fell for the third successive year from a peak of 354,295 in 2015 to 320,000 this year.

Attended by 2,820 exhibitors (1,750 from outside of Germany), the German Agricultural Society (DLG), which organises Agritechnica, is looking back at yet another successful show.

“Agritechnica has once again impressively demonstrated its outstanding position as the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural technology,” said Dr Reinhard Grandke, CEO of the DLG.

If you missed this year’s show, and are keen to join in the fun at the next one, then the dates to remember are November 14-20, 2021.
