The Lintrac 160 is the most powerful tractor from Lindner as of yet. But rather than underdeliver, the four-cylinder is actually 175hp, and puts out 160hp at the shaft. David Lindner points out that the customers of the family owned business want to know they have the power they are paying for, hence the conservative model number.

Up until now, Lindner has favoured Perkins engines, but the unavailability of a suitable motor has resulted in a switch to a 4.5-litre FPT for this new model. And it uses what is becoming an increasingly popular combination, a ZF CVT, in this case a TMT 14 box which can reach 50km/hr at 1,650rpm.

It also features the four wheel steer system – manoeuvrability and compact dimensions are key selling points adds David Lindner. And it can be equipped with 650 tyres with no loss in linkage performance. Bosch Rexroth supplies the 120l/min hydraulic system and there are four pto speeds to choose from .

Up top, operators are treated to a new bigger, quieter cab with more configurable controls. On the armrest is an all new touchscreen. Production is due to start in May and the price tag, €175,000 or €1,000 per horsepower. David Lindner adds that it doesn’t look like the range will be available in the UK for the foreseeable future.
