New tractor registrations increased by 14% in Ireland last year to 2,067 units.
Up from 1,817 in 2024, Farm Tractor & Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA) data shows that County Cork continued to deliver the highest number of registrations (295), followed by Tipperary in second place (197) and Wexford (120).
The 161hp to 200hp category was the most popular, accounting for almost a quarter of all new registrations. The 50hp to 120hp power band made up 19.21%, and 11.7% were above 200hp.
The FTMTA data also shows that 2,971 used tractors were first-time registered in Ireland last year – 204 units more than in 2024.
Telehandlers, wheeled and backhoe loaders, and UTVs
The Irish market for new telehandlers increased by almost 43% to 754 units last year (618 in 2024), with Manitou and JCB enjoying 72% of the total market.
New wheeled loader registrations were up 23.13% from 160 units in 2024 to 197 last year, and the 54 new backhoe loaders registered in 2025 is on a par with the 52 in 2024. The number of new UTV registrations declined by 3.5% to 271 units (281 in 2024).
