A new cab, engine and monocoque chassis rank as the stand-out features on Househam’s new Harrier self-propelled sprayer.

Replacement for the Merlin model, the Harrier is offered with either a 230hp four-cyl or 240hp six-cylinder Mercedes/MTU Stage IV engine and spray tank sizes of 4,000, 5,000 or 6,000 litres; boom sizes are a base 24m twin-fold or a heavier-duty 24m design that can be extended out to 36m. Yet arguably the key difference from the outgoing Merlin is the Harrier’s monocoque chassis, which is said to make the machine both lighter and stronger. Price of the pictured 4,000-litre/24m Harrier is from £165,000.
