What to do with erosion-prone, post-harvest maize stubbles has long been an issue.

Weaving Machinery’s solution is to run through the young, knee-high maize crop in June with its IR6001M 6.0m/six-row companion crop drill (£16,800), to establish an inter-row grass cover — three grass seeding coulters between each row of maize.

Along with its larger 8.0m/eight-row IR8001M sib, the mounted, folding seeder can also be used to sow oilseed rape and a full range of cover crops.
