CNH Industrial has completed its acquisition of a minority stake in Augmenta, a company that develops precision farming solutions.

The technology, which will be available globally through CNH Industrial’s AgXtend portfolio, uses roof-mounted multispectral 4K cameras that scan the field ahead of the vehicle.

AI calculates exactly what the crop needs in terms of fertiliser or plant protection products and real-time variable rate application prescription is instantly transmitted to the fertiliser spreader or sprayer.

Compatible with a broad range of crops, data is automatically transmitted to a cloud portal or can be exported a farm management information system.

Headquartered in Paris, France, Augmenta’s products are currently available in 16 countries throughout Australia, Europe and North and South America.

The acquisition will see CNH Industrial become Augmenta’s strategic partner in crop sensing and machinery automation, and also foresees future joint research and development collaboration.
