Ernest Doe & Sons has strengthened its Case IH and New Holland coverage in Norfolk – Nicholsons Stalham is losing the Case IH franchise.

With immediate effect, Ernest Doe & Sons’ Fakenham branch adds New Holland alongside its established Case IH business, while its North Walsham and Wymondham depots introduce Case IH to complement their existing New Holland operations. Joining five Ernest Doe branches already operating with both franchises, all three new dual franchise outlets offer sales, parts and service support for both brands.

The development forms part of CNH’s wider strategy to consolidate its UK dealer network. As part of these changes, Ernest Doe will become the sole authorised Case IH dealer for Norfolk. Combined with its existing sole representation of New Holland, this will establish the business as the sole authorised dealer for both CNH agricultural brands across the county.

Customer choice remains central to the approach, with farmers able to buy their preferred brand through the branch and team they wish to deal with. All three locations will support both new machinery enquiries and existing Case IH and New Holland owners, wherever their equipment was purchased.

“Bringing both brands together at all three locations gives customers greater choice, backed by the knowledge and experience of our teams and the strength of our aftersales support,” comments Angus Doe, managing director of Ernest Doe & Sons.

“It also strengthens our agricultural business across Norfolk, giving us greater opportunities to support both existing and new customers. We look forward to building on our established customer relationships and welcoming farmers who may not previously have dealt with us.

Statement from Stalham Engineering

Nicholsons Stalham is one of the casualties of the CNH dealer changes in Norfolk. The following is a statement released by the Norwich based business:

‘On Friday, we received formal notice from CNH that in 12 months’ time we will no longer be a Case IH dealer. CNH (Case IH’s parent company) has moved to a strategy of dual branding depots across the country, which means they will have fewer dealers overall, and sadly we at Nicholsons have been affected by that strategy.

What this means for our customers: For the next twelve months we continue to represent the Case IH brand and we continue serving our customers who have bought Case IH product from us. We continue to undertake sales, warranty, service and repair work and intend to continue providing the high level of service our customers expect.

After the 12-month notice period, we will continue servicing and repairing but will no longer be able to provide warranty. Any vehicles that still have outstanding warranty after 12 months will be transferred to Ernest Doe for the remaining period.

We have been a Case IH dealer for more than eight years and we are proud of the work we have done to build the brand from a handful of tractors, to one of the most common tractors seen in our area. This has been due to our loyal customers old and new, who have supported us throughout the time. We cannot thank you enough.
