American beer brewer Anheuscher-Bush has converted a John Deere combine to a mobile beer tap.
Dubbed the ComBar, and believed to be a based on a working 9000 series model from the early 1990s, the custom wrap is not the only change to the former harvester. The sides also contain a row of working taps, and while the discharge auger is shaped to look like a tap handle, it does not pour beer.
Cold US farmed certified beer, which includes Busch Light and Budweiser, is served from the tap handles on the side of the ComBar.
The brewer spends US$700 million a year of sourcing barley, rice, maize, and hops from 700 US farmers, and the 10t mobile bar is currently touring the country as part of an Anheuscher initiative to encourage more consumers to buy products made with US‑grown ingredients.
The hard to miss combine participated in the 4th of July parade in St. Louis and will appear at various events across the country for the rest of this year, including the Farm Progress Show in September.
