Its not just the cab which is new on the two model 8 Series range from Deutz-Fahr, the whole tractor is new and it fills a gap between the 8280 TTV and the more heavy-weight 9340 TTV. Not all of the details on the 8310 TTV and 8340 TTV have been announced yet, but this is what we know so far ahead of the official press launch on Monday morning at Agritechnica.

It isn’t a Deutz powering the Deutz-Fahr, there is an FPT 6.7-litre lurking below the bonnet supplying the respective 313hp and 340hp. But Graham Barnwell from SDF UK and Ireland says they have put their own stamp on the engine which is partnered with a ZF stepless TMT 32 transmission. For instance it has an electric variable geometry turbo.
There is also a new suspension system for what is expected to be a 11.5t tractor – there is no official figure for the bare weight as of yet.

But it is in the SigmaVision Cab where things get really interesting. There is still the clear divide between the cab bulkhead and the engine bay to reduce noise and heat, there is also a laminated glass windscreen option. Cab seat swivel is up to 45 degrees to the right for more comfort, there is a massage function too.
The four post cab is 200mm wider, 200mm longer and offers 30% more volume than before. That helps account for the 11% bigger glass area. There is a new armrest complete with a new IMonitor 5 display (this Topcon sourced screen is also appearing in other Deutz-Fahr models as of now) and 29 configurable buttons. There is also a 15-inch large, colour A-pillar display for the main functions plus camera feeds.

There is a lot more useful driving tech too. For instance, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition and human detection. There is even lane assist. Telemetry is also coming to Deutz-Fahr along with more connectivity features.
Production units are expected to start landing at the half-way mark of next year. These will come with a standard two-year warranty with the option of upping this to five-years, 5,000 hours.

Although it would be great to see the new cab on the rest of the DF family, we are told this is not something that will happen imminently.
