The latest version of the 4-tonne class mini excavator has a more powerful engine and tweaks to the boom and cab improve operator visibility.
Replacing the previous D17 engine, the in-house built 25hp Stage V DW01 motor provides more power and higher torque for heavy duty applications.
Moving the position of the boom swing point 75mm to the right, in combination with a change in swing angle to 60o to both the left and right, increases the operator’s visual range out through the front of the cab.
This has been further improved by changing the position of the radio and increasing the wiper blade angle. Boom swing control has also been moved from the pedal to the thumbwheel control on the joystick.
The increased stand tilting angle and wider 404mm (was 363mm) entrance makes cab access easier. Inside the structure, there is a new orange seat belt, a ‘cooler’ seat and improved engine heat dissipation through a change in cooling system.
Increased accessibility to the hydraulic oil filling point, and the new retractable cover improves maintenance, and there is a new battery jump-start feature.
A new clip system simplifies changing the two-stage air cleaner filter, and a new monitoring and alarm system notifies operators when filters need changing and engine exhaust noise levels are down.
Maximum travel speeds are 2.5km/hr (low range) and 4.3km/hr (high range). Hydraulic flow is 74l/min and digging depth and reach are 3.4m and 5.4m, respectively. The larger ½-inch arm pipe increases boom-in speed by 3% and boom-out speed by 15%.
More tie down points makes it easier to load and fasten the zero tail swing excavator for transport, and the number of work lights has also been increased.
