JCB dealer G & J Peck has added the Kubota franchise to the mix to strengthen the brands coverage throughout Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and south Lincolnshire.
The new dealer is effectively taking over part of the Kubota patch currently covered by Ireland’s Farm Machinery, which after nine years has decided to drop Kubota and will no longer represent the brand after February 2026.
Ireland’s Farm Machinery has also decided to close its Market Rasen depot on December 1, 2025, which is when G & J Peck will take over. Operating from newly opened headquarters in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, Pecks, which recently lost the CNH franchise (see link at bottom), also operates with depots at Dereham in Norfolk, and Rendlesham in Suffolk.
Covering the 200hp+ six-cylinder tractor segment with JCB and serving the sub-200hp sector with the various Kubota four-cylinder tractor ranges would seem like a sensible move. Indeed, this should allow Pecks to meet the needs for a lot of its customers looking for tracotrs up to 350hp or so.
The lack of more powerful Kubota models, particularly six-cylinder tractors was one of the main reasons Irelands gave in a statement from September for relinquishing the Kubota franschise.
“The addition of Kubota’s tractor range to our business totally complements our existing tractor brand, adding value to what we can already provide for our customers,” said G & J Peck managing director, Jon Wareing.
“It is our goal to further support the area we operate in, with dedicated sales, service and support with a range of Kubota tractors from the 25hp EK1-261 up to the 175hp M7-174 KVT Premium, complementing the higher-powered tractor brand we currently sell.”
“The appointment of Pecks as a Kubota tractor dealer will provide on-going support to existing customers operating in these areas, in addition to delivering sales, service and aftercare for Kubota’s agricultural product portfolio,” comments Henry Bredin, general manager of Kubota (UK)’s agricultural and ground care machinery business.
Ireland’s Farm Machinery says that customers in the Market Rasen area will still be able to deal with its Carrington and Sutterton depots for whole goods, parts, and service. The company says it will also ensure that anyone that has bought Kubota products from them in the past and more recently, will be looked after accordingly for warranty, parts, and service.
