Previewed at Agritechnica 2023, the Horsch Leeb Xeric 14 FS pneumatic fertiliser spreader has now made it to the commercial stage and is on sale for next season.
The German manufacturer first announced it was going to build such a machine in 2021. Test machines were in the field in 2023 and a model was previewed at Agritechnica that same year. Based on the tandem axle chassis of the 12,000l trailed Leeb 12 TD sprayer, a number of pre-series units have been tested and further developed since.

In addition to the previous working widths (profi 11.2024) of 36m and 48m, a new 39m version completes the range. On top is a 14m³ bin with augers directing the fertiliser to a sorting box on the top of the parallelogram linkage used to carry the boom. The metering output allows for speeds of up to 20km/hr.
The spec includes a boom levelling (BoomControl) system and a metering box with a central metering system, and the 12-section boom, automatic section switch-off and curve compensation are said to bring a new level of precision to a granular fertiliser spreader.
