The latest version of the Develon transparent wheel loader bucket uses AI-powered object detection and recognition to further increase safety.
Designed to eliminate blind spots in front of the machine when the bucket is raised, the latest version (first one was launched early 2021) still uses high-tech front-mounted cameras with the combined images displayed in real time using a curved projection method. This allows the driver to ‘see’ in front of the wheel loader through the monitor in the cockpit.

Two cameras mounted on the cab and front frame to create a curved projection composite image of the space in front of the bucket. This ensures that the display dynamically adjusts as the loader moves, maintaining an uninterrupted view for the operator.
The new bit on the Transparent Bucket 2.0 (TB2.0) is AI-powered object detection and recognition. This identifies objects – including people – within 10m and alerts the operator with a red triangular warning on the monitor. With advanced object recognition, the system learns the position of the bucket and automatically adjusts the composite image to match the movement of the bucket.

The warning system on the second-generation version has been improved with colour-coded alerts. If an object is detected within the bucket’s transparency zone, the monitor flashes bold red to indicate immediate danger. If an object is detected outside of the visibility zone, the monitor flashes thick yellow, signalling a potential hazard.
The company stresses that TB2.0 is still only a complementary tool. Operators should always visually inspect their surroundings and not rely on the system alone.
