A new UK import business has been set up between Greek sprayer manufacturer Agroma and Knight Farm Machinery.

Called Agroma UK, it will import and distribute the Greek company’s mounted, trailed and specialist sprayers via an expanded sales team through established and new UK and Ireland dealers.

Founded by managing director Brian Knight of Knight Farm Machinery, and the directors of the Greek company, the new business gives existing Agroma and Knight dealers access to a wider range of sprayers to match different requirements.

“Agroma and Knight Farm Machinery have collaborated on projects for many years, so we know each other’s manufacturing and design principles very well,” says Mr Knight.

Agroma makes two mounted and three trailed ranges of the Millenium. The mounted models are the Millenium SM (800-1,500 litres/12-15m booms) and Millenium M (1,000-1,500 litres/15-18m booms.

Trailed machines include the Millenium ST (3,000-litre/15-18m booms), Millenium ET (higher-specification 3,000-litre machine/20–28m booms), and Millenium T trailed (3,000-4,000 litres/20-30m booms). There are also sprayers for the orchard, fruit and vineyard sectors, and a range of heavy-duty mulchers.

Headquartered at Knight’s facility in South Luffenham, near Oakham in Rutland, the Agroma UK will hold a selection of new machines and spare parts, provide technical support, and host product and technical training.

“The new product portfolio provides tremendous opportunities for UK and Irish farmers and dealers,” comments Paul Harrison, who is responsible for sales, marketing and distribution at Knight Farm Machinery and the new Agroma UK operation.

“As well as distributing through existing Agroma and Knight dealerships, we welcome enquiries from new distribution partners interested in building the marketplace with us.”

Based in Veria, 40 miles west of Thessaloniki in northern Greece, Agroma produced its first sprayer in 1977.
