Sola seed drill supplier KRM has added the GS300 (3.0m) model to its range of direct drills.
Designed for sowing directly into existing grassland using disc coulters, the new Grass Seed (GS) model from the Spanish manufacturer is designed to improve grassland without taking it out of production for a significant period of time.

The combination of 450mm fixed wheels and 500mm floating wheels is said to provide good self-cleaning and consolidation.
The rubber mounted and specially designed direct grass coulters come have a large 400mm diameter, notched disc opener to cut through existing pasture. Mounting the disc at a shallow five-degree angle is said to ensure minimum disturbance and produce the best closing of the seed slot. The prism type roller that follows the disc coulters sets the seeding depth.
Hopper capacities range from a pressurised 300l single product version up to 2,000l. The latter can be used solely for seed, or as an option can be ordered with a split hopper for both seed and fertiliser. This allows the two products to be independently metered and applied simultaneously.
Additionally, the Sola Mini Seed hopper can be mounted allowing a third product (seeds such as clover, micro granular fertilisers or crop protection products) to be metered and applied independently.

North Yorkshire based KRM has imported seed drills from Spanish manufacturer Sola since 2012.
In tough conditions where extra ground penetrate force is needed, the tractor’s weight can be utilised via a hydraulic weight transfer system. This eliminates the need to add weights to the machine which allows a smaller tractor to be used.
Retail price of the GS300 with a 300l hopper is £39,670. Available for demonstrations now, the first public outing will be at the Cereals Event in June.
