The new exterior design is not the only change to the latest versions of the GX general purpose trailers, which now have electronic forced steering and a new job computer.
Coming from the RX, ZX and the TX, the electronic forced-steering system on the GX 360 (36m³), 440 (44m³) and GX 520 (52m³), uses a sensor fitted ahead of the front axle to determine the optimum steering angle when cornering. There are no mechanical connecting elements, which Krone says allows for even sharper steering angles. The interface of the new job computer is said to be enable intuitive control of all key functions.
“With the new job computer and contactless forced steering, we are taking the GX to a whole new level of operability and manoeuvrability,” explains Christian Dresselhaus, product manager for transport technology.
Other changes intended to make the GX cleaner and easier to maintain includes the new position for the gearbox at the front. This creates plenty of space for material to fall onto the ground, and the optimised seals are said to ensure quiet and reliable operation, protect key components and reduce wear and tear.
The GX is available in Plus and Pro variants: GX 360 Plus, GX 440 Plus/Pro and GX 520 Pro. With simple electronics and hydraulics, Plus models are said to be ideal for tractors without ISObus or load sensing hydraulics.
The Pro spec includes ISObus operation and ExactUnload, which allows the unloading speed to be adjusted to suit the length of the clamp and the tractor’s driving speed.
