A desire to build its own front/rear-mounted flail, rather than import a machine, prompted Suffolk-based Shelbourne Reynolds to design the FPO 2800. Priced at £10,900, the 2.8m model is constructed ‘tough’ with a double-skinned shell, 235hp-rated gearbox, five V-belts and large diameter pulleys. A particular requirement was for the efficient handling of damp, green material, hence the open throat profile tapering to a narrower rear for a greater suction effect.
