AH Engineering has added some simple electronics all to its rear discharge spreader, all aimed at making life easier on the operator and their machines even more dependable.

Firstly, the horizontal beater/spreading disc machines now have hydraulic adjustment of the lower hood section. This allows users to alter the drop point onto the disc and get a more even coverage when the material changes. A linear transducer measures the position. Previously this was a nut and bolt operation so users were less fussed about making minor adjustments.

Of wider appeal, is an automatic floor stop function that is triggered when the rotors are stopped, either when the shear bolt snaps or more when the spreader is empty and returning to the stack. Experience with its hire fleet, suggests that operators do occasionally forget to turn off the floor and then start loading, which can lead to predictable consequences. There is an override function on the panel at the front of the spreader which allows the floor to be moved when the rotors are disengaged.

Simple LED lights let the user know what functions are engaged.
