Väderstad has increased the hopper capacity by more than 40% on the latest versions of its BioDrill seeding unit for the Rapid 300-400C/S.

Hopper capacity is up from 200 to 300l on the BioDrill for the 3.0m Rapid and from 280 to 400l on the 4.0m version, and the two units are now equipped as standard with two level sensors. Hopper capacity of the BioDrill for the pneumatic Rapid A 400-800S, Rapid A 600-800C and Spirit remains at 360l.

The company says that applying a third product, in addition to seed and fertiliser, is gaining in popularity, and that the larger hoppers increase capacity for a variety of tasks including broadcasting cover crops and grass seed and mixing a starter fertiliser with seed.

The BioDrill can be integrated into the same control system as the two Rapid drills. Alternatively, it can be operated via a separate control box. Calibration is carried out using a remote-control box on the seeding unit.

The 3.0m and 4.0m Rapid drills are available as S (seed only) or C (combi) versions.
