Wider and longer than the structure fitted to the Maus 5, the total internal volume of 4,400 litres is almost a third larger. The more spacious cab provides room for a foldable passenger seat. There is more integrated storage space and, for the first time, a cooling box and an additional shelf (for snacks or sandwiches).
Sun blinds are fitted on all windows and there are two wipers on each side window. The standard spec includes LED work lights and a DAB radio with Bluetooth and hands-free set.
There is also a new heating system, and in the future operators will be able to switch on or preset the heating system remotely via the myRopa online portal and R-Connect.
Other in-cab updates include two new joysticks with additional functions, two 12.1” operating terminals, a height-adjustable steering column and additional cameras.
Up front, the 10.2m pick-up has a total of 18 cleaning rollers. The loading conveyor is up to 9.0m long and 4.0m high and can be swung out together with the fuel tank, which serves as a counterweight.
Capable of loading sugar beet to widths in excess of 15.0m, the Maus 6 folds automatically to 3.0m for road transport where the maximum speed is 40km/hr.
The Maus 6 is powered by a 354hp Stage V Mercedes Benz 7.7-litre engine that produces a maximum torque of 1,450Nm at 1,200-1,600 rpm. Pre-production models are working this year. Production versions will be available for the 2022 campaign.
