Grange Machinery has developed a maize ready version of its 6.0m Close Coupled Toolbar (CCT).
Developed for farms wanting a traditional 50cm soil loosener during harvest but then require a wider 75cm spacing for drilling maize and other row crops, extra brackets allow the spacings of the low disturbance legs to be altered.

Designed to break up any soil compaction when combined with a mounted or trailed drill, the PTO-ready implement is said to take out wheelings and correct compaction in pre-drill and post-harvest passes. When combined with a packer roller, it creates a one pass seedbed.

“Sowing maize in 75cm rows is becoming more common,” comments Rhun Jones, managing director of Grange Machinery, who explains that the development work was done with a customer wanting both 50cm and 75cm tine spacings.
“With his input, we have designed a machine that does both and we’re very excited about it. It functions as an all-loosening system during harvest, but a maize and strip tillage system in that season, so it’s very versatile.”
