Maschio Gaspardo has set up a new joint venture with US no-till drill specialist Lynx Ag to develop and produce large precision seed drills for the North American market.

The new company, Maschio Gaspardo USA, will allow the Italian manufacturer to extend its range of large seed drills designed specifically for the needs of the North American market.

“North America is a very important market for our growth plan,” comments Luigi De Puppi, CEO of Maschio Gaspardo. “The agreement with Lynx allows us to accelerate product development, reduce time-to-market, and bring high value-added solutions to the field for farmers, focusing on reliability, digitization and productivity.”

A new range of precision seed drills will be developed with Maschio’s Chrono seeding unit. The new products will be distributed through the Maschio and Lynx dealer networks. Founded in 2013, and based in Churdan (Iowa), the Lynx strip-till range currently peaks with a 20m-wide and 36-row unit with a double 24t fertilizer tank.

“We are excited to join forces with Maschio Gaspardo,” adds Lance Glendenning, CEO of Lynx Ag. “We will work together to build a new generation of seed drills, where the quality of European design meets the practicality and resilience required by American agriculture.”

For the record, Maschio Gaspardo opened a branch in Iowa (DeWitt) in 2004.
