Sharing its exterior colour scheme and styling cues with the recently-launched 8S series, the new five-model 5S range is said to provide the compact dimensions required by livestock and mixed farmers with the performance and power needed for arable work.

Set to replace the 5700S series, the new range; the 105hp 5S.105, 115hp 5S.115, 125hp 5S.125, 135hp 5S.135 and 145hphp 5S.145 (all max. power), are available in three levels of specification; Essential, Efficient and Exclusive.

Power comes from a four-pot, 4.4-litre, Stage V compliant AGCO Power engine, mated to either 16×16 speed, Dyna-4 or 24×24 Dyna-6, semi-powershift transmissions. Exclusive and Efficient models come with AutoDrive as standard (automatic changing of the four or six steps in fieldwork, as well as the ranges when in transport).

The redesigned rear linkage boosts the lift capacity by 7.0% to 5.7t (new option of hydraulic hook top link), and lift capacity of the optional front linkage is up from 2.5t to 3.0t.

The new and stronger suspended front axle reduces the turning radius to a super tight 4.0m, even when fitted with a loader subframe. Compared to the likes of the John Deere 6120M and New Holland T5EC which have a shorter wheelbase than the Massey’s 2.55m, the 5S turning circle is 0.7-1.9m smaller if using the brochure stats.

Inside the quieter cab the armrest on Exclusive and Efficient models comes from the recently-launched 8S range (Essential models come with a shorter armrest).

Standard on Exclusive models (optional on the rest), the Datatronic 5 ISObus compatible touch-screen monitors all tractor functions and controls ISObus compliant implements.

The ventilation system has been given an overhaul with improved air distribution for better demisting. All models can be supplied loader ready, or now come equipped with a factory-fitted loader from the Massey FL series.

Production of the 5700S range will cease late Q1, 2021. 5S assembly will begin soon after and the first models are expected to arrive in the UK sometime in April.
