Approx. 7,800 new 50hp+ Massey Ferguson tractors were registered in mainland Europe in 2024. 2,771 of these were in the main market of France, where the brand secured fifth place, and increased its share of the 33,225-strong market to 8.3% (7.7% in 2023).

Massey lost market share in Europe’s second largest market of Germany, accounting for 1,193 units (-12.2% on 2023) of the 29,315-strong market. This gave it eighth spot and a market share of 4.1% (4.6% in 2023).

The dip in registrations was even more dramatic in the third largest market of Italy, where the 616 units registered by Massey was down 19% on the 761 units a year earlier. This resulted in the brand’s share of the Italian market drop to 4.0% (4.3% in 2023).

There was good news in the fourth largest European market of Spain where Massey registered 407 unit (+15.6%) and seventh place in the overall standings.

Otherwise, it was a bit of a mixed bag for Massey in Europe last year, with registrations down 19%, 40% and 19.7%, in Poland, Hungary and Switzerland, respectively, but 13% in the plus in Austria and up 33.6% in Belgium.

There was good for the brand in the four Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, where it registered 13.1%, 29.6%, 4.3% and 6.1% more tractors, respectively.

The 464 Massey tractors registered in Norway gave it a 20.2% share of the 2,299-strong market, and third place behind John Deere and Valtra. Massey enjoyed second spot with Sweden with 365 units and a 17.3% share of the total market of 2,111 tractors. Source: Eilbote
