New Holland says that the advanced oscillating roller wheels and vibration dampening mount suspension in the latest SmartTrax track system improves the ride quality on the revamped T9s, which now reach a new top speed of 40km/hr.
Available on T9.520, T9.580, T9.615, T9.655 and T9.700 (475 to 645hp rated power) on 2025 models, integrated clear track system hubcaps simplify daily maintenance and automatic track tensioning is said to help lengthen the lifespan of the belts. The lower profile of the track system has allowed fuel tank capacity to be increased by 47% to more than 1,700l.
The swinging cab entry steps are also new. These automatically pivot as the tractor is articulated, keeping the ladder from extending beyond the tracks and allowing for easier entry and exit from the cab.
We are not aware of any changes in the engine department, and all five SmartTrax models appear to be powered by the same six-pot FPT Cursor 13 (two-stage turbo on the three top models). The block peaks in the T9.700 at 699hp. Case IH appears to have sole rights in the CNH Industrial stable to the FPT Cursor 16 in the Quadtrac 715 (max. 778hp).
Incidentally, the five T9 SmartTrax PLM Intelligence models will only be available in North America and Australia. We are not aware of any plans to bring them to the UK or Europe.
