Dutch mixer wagon and silage block cutter manufacturer Trioliet has installed a new powder coating installation at its production site in Oldenzaal.

Swapping the previous gas oven for an infra-red version, the nifty bit is that a specially developed coating allows the second layer to be applied immediately after the first, without needing to heat it.

Main benefits of the new system include the higher throughput capacity, and the single oven set-up uses 40% less energy than the previous twin oven arrangement, saving 75,000 cubes of gas a year. Electricity for the infra-red oven is generated by 4,400 solar panels secured to the roof of the production halls.

There is more because new steel pre-treatment technology is claimed to increase corrosion resistance of the Dutch company’s by a third.
