Getting their time to shine at Agritechnica is the new generation of short-wheelbase Puma models. There are just three tractors in the Case IH range, the 155, 165 and 185, that’s right the top model has been renamed to coincide with the extra power from the new engine software.
There will be three transmission options with the stepless CVX Drive first out of the block in the new year. These will then be joined by the Active Drive 8 in mid-2026 and the already familiar AD 6 will come online in twelve. The engine itself is still the FPT, six-cylinder, 6.7-litre motor. All of this is tucked under the new look bonnet, so it gets the same family styling as the other updated tractors in the Case IH family.
As mentioned the power curve has been reworked so they now reach their max power at a lower revving 1,500rpm. Rated power outputs match the model numbering – 155hp, 165hp and 185hp, while he max power with boost is 192hp, 211hp and 226hp respectively. There is also an increase in torque over the models they replace – 906, 979 and 1,063Nm which is achieved at 1,300rpm.

The front suspension system has also been updated and there is a choice of mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic cab suspension systems. An optional heavy-duty front axle has allowed the gross vehicle weight to be increased to 13.5t which results in a payload of 5.5t. Both axles allow a tighter turn.
The hydraulics now have a new 170l/min pump option and the lift capacity has been increased too. There are also changed to the stabilisers, spool valves and the Power Beyond couplers. CNH is also using a new pick-up hitch with the need for lift rods.

Up in the cab, there is now more room for the seat to move back creating more legroom and the HVAC can now deliver more airflow. The controls are also more in line with the bigger Pumas but Case IH customers have a choice of a slimmed down MultiController armrest which is also the default if you want manual spools, or the wider armrest from the bigger models which is electric only. The new electric system lends itself to more technology including greater use of field ops and telematics.
There will also be a choice for three cab tops, low-profile, high vis for loader work or a standard roof.
