The Kubota M8 will make its public debut at the North American Farm Progress Show, which starts today.

Following hot on the heels of last weekend’s Half Century of Progress event, Farm Progress alternates between permanent locations in Boone in Iowa and Decatur in Illinois.

This year it is the turn of the latter for the nation’s largest outdoor farm event, and at a media day ahead of the show journalists were able to preview some of the tractors visitors will see during the next three days.

These include the Case IH 2020 Magnum and New Holland T8 Genesis, both of which were previewed in the US earlier this year. The Versatile Nemesis will also be there as will a Claas Axion Terra Trac, which debuted at the 2017 Agritechnica.

The big unknown is whether John Deere is planning to preview its eagerly-awaited 8R Series tractors. Pictures of what appears to be one of the new models have circulated social media for the past few weeks.

Providing these images are for real then the company could possibly be planning to show something sometime soon. Farm Progress? Unlikely, because it would have been at the media preview. Agritechnica? Possibly. We will have to wait and see.

This the 66th edition of the Farm Progress Show has 36ha (90 acres) of exhibition space and 145ha (360 acres) of field demonstrations. Over 150,000 visitors are expected from 40 countries.

Special thanks to Chad E. Colby for permission to publish the pictures.
