The redesigned chassis of the new Stage V-compliant version of the self-propelled sprayer uses a heavier-duty mechanical drivetrain and larger axles. When the larger 3000-litres capacity spray tank is full, the ground pressure of the light-footed Agribuggy2 AB30 is a low 8psi.

Power comes from a Cummins 3.8-litre 148hp turbocharged block, which delivers 600Nm of torque at lower revs and is cooled by a new pack with automatic reversing fan and has an intelligent engine braking system. Draining fuel from the larger 110-litre fuel tank, average daily fuel consumption is said to be around 70lit/day.

Maintenance free driveshafts and heavy-duty OMSI drive axles provide improved traction and handling and 750mm of ground clearance when fitted with large diameter row-crop wheels.

In the cab, the new instrument layout includes a full-colour 7-inch display. The AB30 comes with a Cat IV active filtration system, cruise control and an integrated phone charging point. Additional 4ws features enables operators to manually control the rear axle for increased precision and safety on slopes and the 65-litre LS hydraulics are claimed to provide improved performance and greater capability at lower engine revs.

The digital sight gauge with LED display for tank contents and remote pto control is new. This is said to provide greater convenience and accuracy.

The 3,000-litre demount spray tank is internally baffled for additional strength and to prevent surges. 12.0m/24.0m aluminium Pommier booms with a pressure recirculation system remain as standard.

“By listening to user feedback, we’ve been able to increase efficiency, economy, performance, and functionality even further,” comments John Davis, sprayer sales manager at McConnel.
