Fendt consolidated its lead at the top of the German tractor market in 2024 with 7,391 units and a 25.2% share of the 29,315-strong market.

Up from 6,140 units and a 20.2% market share in 2023, second placed John Deere was soon distance behind with 4,659 units (15.9% share of the total market).

Fendt also performed well in Europe’s largest market of France where it secured second spot with 4,226 units (6.3% increase on the 3,976 units in 2023).

Like most other brands, Fendt lost a bit of ground in the third largest market of Italy, where the total market was down -12.3% to 15,448 units. The German tractor maker had to settle for fifth spot with 1,109 units; down 17.7% on 2023.

There were other bright spots for Fendt, though, including pole position in Switzerland, and the brand secured third place with 829 units (+32%) and an 8.0% share of the buoyant 10,390-strong Spanish market.

It also secured second place in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark and Finland, and third spot in the Netherlands. All told, Fendt accounted for around 17,000 of the 140,000-odd new tractors registered in Europe last year. This number is up from around 15,500 in 2023, which was also 3.0% higher than in 2022.
