Earlier this year Grégoire Besson announced it would be closing the Rabe plant after it went into financial difficulty, but the German cultivator and plough maker has found a new owner.

According to local newspaper Wittlager Kreisblatt, the Rabe name and factory at Bad Essen have been purchased by ZWL Holding who plans to restart production as soon as next month. The range of tillage equipment will be under the Rabe banner.

Linen based ZWL Holding is a German-Asian group of investors linked to SCK an import/export company. According to the newspaper report Georg Krassort, managing director of Krassort Agrar-Fahrzeugtechnik is also involved as a co-investor. Krassort makes a pre-chopping unit for square balers as well as various trailers.

As well as the familiar range of agricultural implements, it is understood the new owners also want to produce construction and municipal equipment.
