Pöttinger turnover increased 11% during the 2020/2021 financial year to €405m, the highest in its 150-year history and the first time it has exceeded €400m.

The company hinted it was enjoying its best ever year at the early July launch of the Jumbo 7000 forage wagons. The forecast at the time was for a turnover of around €395m at the end of the financial year on July 31.

The higher than expected figure is a sizeable increase on the €366m of 2019/2020. It also exceeds the previous record of €382m in 2018/2019.

Grassland machines are crucial for the Austrian company accounting for 69% of total 2020/2021 turnover. Arable kit made up the remaining 31% of overall machine sales. Both divisions saw consistent positive development.

The home market of Austria remains one of the strongest (12% of turnover). The remaining 88% was exported and almost 60% of revenue was achieved in Germany, France, Austria, Poland, Switzerland and Great Britain, where strong growth was reported.

There was no change in the two largest markets of Germany and France, which accounted for 18% and 15% of turnover respectively. Overseas sales developed positively and particularly in Canada (+ 48%) and Australia (+33%).

Pöttinger continues to invest in its plants and develop new machines. More product launches are planned for this autumn.
