North Yorkshire-based farm machinery and John Deere dealer Ripon Farm Services has acquired neighbouring John Deere dealer RBM Agricultural.

The acquisition allows Ripon Farm Services to expand into Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, and it is business as usual for all five RBM branches in Market Weighton, Malton, Retford, Brigg and Louth, where all 84 staff have been retained.

Both companies celebrated 50 years as John Deere dealerships in 2017. Ripon Farm Services, which operates across Yorkshire and the Humber and Teesside, supplies a wide range of equipment from franchises including Bailey, Kuhn, Kramer, John Deere and Stihl. The company employs 190 people at its nine depots and has a turnover of £70 million. RBM is a £45m turnover business.

“This acquisition represents considerable investment in our business and our skilled workforce and fits perfectly with our growth ambitions,” said managing director Geoff Brown of Ripon Farm Services.
